Overview: We're seeking an experienced CNC Swiss Programmer and Technical Lead to create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for complex Swiss-machined parts across a range of metal and plastic materials. The position combines deep hands-on programming expertise with a leadership dimension, including mentoring machinists and programmers and driving continuous process improvement. Aerospace or medical industry experience is a strong advantage, and the role is expected to grow into a supervisory capacity. This is a strictly on-site position based in Hatboro, PA (near Philadelphia), however candidates from any U.S. geography are welcome to apply provided they are open to relocation.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize CNC programs for 9–12 axis CNC Swiss machinery, including full setup documentation, inspection plans, work instructions, and simulation presentations for the machining team
- Design custom pick-off collets, workholding fixtures, and cutting tools; plan and sequence turning and multi-axis milling operations for complex features including 3D surfaces, angular holes, slots, and thin-walled micro-machined structures
- Manage tool life, bar-feeding systems, chip and coolant strategies, and troubleshooting to support stable, high-volume lights-out unattended operations
- Mentor and cross-train machinists and programmers in advanced milling techniques, process documentation, and lights-out production best practices while contributing to standard operating procedure development
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience setting up and running CNC Swiss machinery (Citizen preferred; Star or Tornos acceptable) combined with minimum 5 years of CAM programming experience (Esprit, PartMaker, SolidCAM, Mastercam, or equivalent)
- Demonstrated proficiency in multi-axis milling for 3D surfaces, angular holes, slots, and thin-walled micro-machined features, with proven ability to machine and inspect complex parts from PEEK, titanium, aluminum, stainless steels, and Inconel
- Broad knowledge of G-code programming and solid understanding of DFM/DFMA principles
- Collaborative, communicative, and team-oriented with a willingness to work hands-on and take ownership of both programming quality and team development
- Non-Disclosure/Restrictive Covenant Agreement is required for this position
