Softwear Automation is excited to be changing the textile & clothing manufacturing industry in a way that hasn’t been seen since the Industrial Revolution. Due to our rapid growth projection we are in need of smart, passionate, and excited people to join our growing team!

You will be part of a diverse team in a roll your sleeves up and think outside the box company where problem solving and creativity are highly valued. If you like hands-on engineering, developing innovative solutions (not just ideas), and being technically challenged each day, we have a place for you on our team!

Positions exist for those who would like to grow into a leadership role as well as individual contributors.

Standard role description is below, but this isn’t your typical plug and play ME role, so be sure to check our website to see who we are at

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Utilize design and simulation tools (CAD, FEA, CFD, etc.), rapid prototyping (3D printing, quick-turn fabrication, etc.) and data logging and analysis in developing creative solutions to provide engineering justification and design validation.
  • Develop designs for textile assembly production equipment (from components to a complete assembly line).
  • Create documentation of prototype and production equipment design criteria and engineering justification that supports design decisions and component selections (actuator size, sensor type, motor size, bearing size, etc.).
  • Develop fabrication drawings and complete BOM’s for ordering prototype and production assembly equipment.
  • Troubleshoot prototype and production assembly equipment for reliability, quality, and throughput issues. Provide solutions based on engineering justification.
  • Collaborate with other mechanical engineers to grow cumulative team technical knowledge and skills, improving team efficiency and synergy
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, technicians, and administrative personnel to accomplish product and project goals.

Required Technical Skills:

  • 3+ years of 3D CAD modeling experience (SOLIDWORKS preferred).
  • Experience converting/developing “ideas” into practical and functional “solutions” that meet the business needs in a timely manner
  • Experience working with industrial grade automation components (sensors, motors, PLC’s, etc.).
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, machining, and fabrication techniques and how they can be leveraged to enhance reliability and reduce cost.
  • Experience supporting project planning, budgeting, and task delegation.

Bonus Skills:

  • Machining or fabrication experience.
  • PLC programming experience.
  • Robot arm programming experience.

        Minimum Educational Requirements:

        • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
