You will work closely with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and operations teams to ensure the platform meets user needs and delivers a seamless trading experience.

Role:

As a Director - Product Design, reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, you will be responsible for building the future of the platform, which focuses on 401(k)s, IRAs, and other retirement savings tools. You’ll create intuitive and engaging partner and accountholder experiences and work hand-in-hand with Product Management to develop and champion a clear design strategy for our platform, ensuring alignment with the company's overall product vision and business objectives. Together, you’ll bring a deep understanding of the market, customer needs, and competitive landscape, grounded in experience and a passion for this product domain. In close collaboration, you’ll shape the product vision, strategy, and roadmap to empower our partners and their clients to achieve their financial goals.

Location:

This is a remote position, but candidates must reside within a 2-hour drive of Charlotte, NC. Occasional travel to the Charlotte office will be required.

Responsibilities

The essential responsibilities and duties for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Define the design vision: Develop and champion a clear design strategy for our retirement account management platform, ensuring alignment with the company's overall product vision and business objectives.
  • Drive design excellence: Establish and maintain high standards for design quality, usability, and accessibility across all products and platforms.
  • Champion user-centered design: Promote a deep understanding of user needs and behaviors through user research, usability testing, and data analysis.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner effectively with product management, engineering, marketing, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless product development and launch.
  • Oversee the design process: Guide the team through all stages of the design process, from ideation and concept development to prototyping, testing, and iteration.
  • Build a strong design system: Lead the development and evolution of a comprehensive design system to ensure consistency and efficiency across all products.
  • Stay ahead of the curve: Keep abreast of the latest design trends, technologies, and best practices in the fintech and retirement account management space.

Education and Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in UI/UX design, with proven experience designing and launching successful digital products, ideally within the financial services industry, with a focus on account management and personal finance tools.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing your leadership and design expertise.
  • A deep understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies, with a passion for creating user-friendly and accessible experiences.
  • Experience building and maintaining design systems.
  • Must be US Citizen, Permanent Resident, or eligible to work in the US permanently
