Role:

As a SENIOR QUALITY ARCHITECT, reporting directly to the Senior Director of Platform Architecture, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive quality framework and driving the global test automation and performance strategy that guides all software development, testing, and deployment processes. As a member of our Platform Architecture team, and “guardian of global system quality,” your expertise will help to ensure that quality is integrated into every stage of the product lifecycle, driving continuous improvement. You’ll be responsible for designing the end-to-end systems for structural software quality with a global perspective, taking into account overall system constraints and guiding QA leads and engineers to think outside of local quality evaluation.

Location:

This is a remote position, but candidates must reside within a 2-hour drive of either Pittsburgh, PA, or Charlotte, NC. Occasional travel to one of these cities will be required.

Responsibilities:

The essential responsibilities and duties for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop and execute a long-term quality vision and strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Define and implement quality standards, metrics, and key performance indicators.
  • Design and implement a robust quality framework that covers the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Establish processes for requirements gathering, design reviews, code reviews, testing, and deployment.
  • Integrate quality checks into automated build and deployment pipelines (CI/CD).
  • Define and implement a comprehensive testing strategy, including unit, integration, system, and regression testing.
  • Identify and adopt appropriate testing tools and methodologies to ensure optimal test coverage.
  • Analyze test results and provide actionable feedback to development teams.
  • Work closely with development, product management, and operations teams to foster a culture of quality.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to quality engineers and testers.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize quality initiatives and allocate resources effectively.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing quality frameworks for software development.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and DevOps principles.
  • Expertise in continuous integration and tooling (e.g., Harness, GitLab, CircleCI, GitHub Actions).
  • Expertise in software automation, test management, and bug tracking (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Jira, Rally, Zephyr).
  • Proficiency in performance testing (e.g., Load Runner, JMeter) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Java, Python) and scripting (e.g., Bash, PowerShell) is a plus.
  • Must be US Citizen, Permanent Resident, or eligible to work in the US permanently.
