Role Overview:

As the Head of Engineering at Cloverly, you will provide visionary leadership to our engineering team, driving our technical strategy and ensuring the development of cutting-edge products. If you have a proven track record of leading engineering teams, shaping technical vision, and fostering innovation, this role is tailor-made for you.

What You Will Do:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive technical strategy aligned with Cloverly's mission and business objectives.
• Lead, mentor, and nurture a high-performing engineering team.
• Collaborate closely with the other members of the executive team to shape technical roadmap and set goals.
• Own and guide architectural decision making and ensure the design of robust, scalable, and secure software systems.
• Foster strong collaboration between engineering, product, customer success and other cross functional teams.
• Create strategies for talent development, retention, and succession planning.
• Continuously improve development processes, implementing agile methodologies and operational best practices to enhance efficiency and productivity.
• Identify potential technical risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the reliability and scalability of our products and internal tools.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and maintain the highest levels of security for our technology stack.
  
  

You Might Be A Fit If You Have:

• 10+ years of Software Engineering experience
• Experience leading a team of at least 20 engineers across products and across eng disciplines (Frontend, Backend, DevOps, QA, etc.) in a modern SaaS company
• Experience in a fast-paced startup environment
• Proven track record of building high-performing engineering teams and creating performance roadmaps
• Expertise in Python and with the Django framework, including JWT add-ons, but also comfortable picking up other languages and tech
• Expertise building securitized REST APIs with AWS (including using Cloudformation, APIGateway etc.), with JWT and mTLS handshakes, and following event-driven architecture standards
• Expertise setting up databases and optimizing existing ones to improve functionality. (Our stack includes PostgreSQL with Amazon RDS)
• Modern scaling experience - taking a SaaS product from seed stage through hypergrowth (and the scaling problems that come with that) will be essential to your success

Base Salary range: $180,000-$200,000 plus bonus and equity
